Source Transparency

Ryujinx is open-source software under the MIT license. Source is auditable by anyone. Builds distributed through ryujinx.co are published with matching checksum files for integrity verification.

We recommend comparing file hashes after every download. Store archives in a folder you control, not protected system directories like Program Files on Windows.

SHA-256 and Signature Verification

Each release archive should publish a SHA-256 hash. After downloading, compute the hash locally and compare:

certutil -hashfile Ryujinx.zip SHA256

On Linux and macOS use sha256sum. A mismatch means the file was altered or corrupted; download again from a trusted source.

Example reference hash (catalog mirror)

a70d8b933eb0077788662c05eb28c76ceb921c6dfd9d09ff6b9fabc316ed03ea (v1.3.292 package, verify against your exact build)

Antivirus False Positives

Unsigned or rarely seen emulator binaries sometimes trigger heuristic detections such as FileRepMalware or generic trojan warnings. This is common for open-source emulators and does not automatically mean malware is present.

  • Download only from ryujinx.co once links are configured, or from verified release channels you trust
  • Verify SHA-256 hashes before running
  • Add an exclusion only if you trust the file after verification
  • Never run repacked or cracked bundles from unknown uploaders

Security and Integrity

Fake download sites may bundle adware or modified binaries. Stick to official release paths, keep GPU drivers current, and install .NET Desktop Runtime when Windows prompts you on first launch.
